Antonio Gonzalez
Chairman and CEO, Sunset Hospitality Group
Antonio Gonzalez, the chairman and CEO of Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG), is a stalwart of the industry. With a distinguished two-decade industry tenure and twelve years at the helm of SHG, he has propelled the company to become a global hospitality powerhouse. Under his leadership, SHG has become synonymous with hospitality excellence, exceptional service, sustainability, and community engagement. Gonzalez’s passion for hospitality has propelled SHG’s expansion to 48 venues worldwide, with 30 more in the pipeline and a global workforce of nearly 4,000. Atul Chopra
Founder and CEO, FreshOnTable
Atul Chopra has been at the helm of FreshOnTable since its inception, transforming the F&B landscape with innovative measures. The agri-tech platform boasts an extensive data lake, revolutionizing the availability of local produce. Under his leadership, the company has saved millions in CO2 emissions, collaborated with 150 farms, and served 350 enterprise partners. In 2023, FreshOnTable’s tech platform evolved significantly, integrating seamlessly with the ordering integration system Birchstreet and prioritizing inclusivity by empowering people of determination and female farmers. Chopra’s commitment to sustainability extends to a circular economy, introducing initiatives like recycling coffee grounds as organic fertilizers and championing locally sourced cage-free eggs. Avinash Mohan
Founder of Hideout Restaurant and Café
Avinash Mohan has enjoyed an illustrious career in the F&B industry. Prior to venturing out on his own as founder of Hideout Restaurant and Café, Mohan held positions at some of the region’s top companies. These include being the F&B director of operations at EXPO2020 for Emaar Hospitality Group and cluster director of F&B at Address Hotels + Resorts, Dubai/Fujairah.
His transition to entrepreneurship was marked by the successful launch of Cochin Harbour Restaurant, a popular South Indian cuisine venue in Karama. Beyond leading the charge as chef/owner at the restaurant, Mohan demonstrates his skills in menu development, developing and refining recipes, often experimenting with ingredients, techniques, and flavor combinations to deliver innovative and memorable dining experiences.
A hands-on leader, he also ensures the appropriate recruitment and training of kitchen staff to ensure they are skilled, motivated, and adhere to the restaurant’s standards. This vision for a better footprint runs through all of Mohan’s operations.
In 2024, Mohan’s vision for both his company remains the creation of unique dining destinations, providing a wealth of employment opportunities for chefs while pushing the boundaries of what is possible in gastronomy. In addition, he is dedicated to the establishment of a chef support organization, which will serve as a nurturing ground for culinary talents, offering a diverse range of free training programs. The organization will not only enhance culinary skills but also delve into entrepreneurship, equipping chefs with the tools needed to succeed in the ever-evolving F&B industry.
Charbel Mhanna
CEO, Blackspoon Management
Having spent three decades in the industry and over three years at the helm of Blackspoon Management, Charbel Mhanna has infused the F&B industry with a new dynamic. His leadership at Blackspoon has been marked by innovation and growth at every point. The CEO has driven the company to over 36 percent growth in existing outlets and advancing towards ISO certification. Mhanna’s emphasis on digital transformation has significantly contributed to this success. His tenure has seen prestigious recognitions, including accolades in the Michelin Guide and Time Out Awards. Mhanna’s strategic vision has expanded Blackspoon’s presence, making it one of the most sought-after players in the regional F&B sector.
Diana Rysbaeva
Owner, SHI, Jixiang, and MOLI by SHI
Diana Rysbaeva is the owner of SHI, Jixiang, and MOLI by SHI. This year, she implemented strategic initiatives, including a price reduction on alcohol, leading to increased sales. Her focus on staff development resulted in the promotion of over 15 team members, elevating service quality. Launching a Jixiang Dim Sum food truck and MOLI by SHI in Dubai Hills showcased her adaptability and market understanding. Rysbaeva’s efforts translated into a 30 percent revenue surge at SHI in 2023. It has also earned a Travelers’ Choice Award on TripAdvisor and is now recognized as one of the top 10 best Asian restaurants in Dubai. Her commitment to sustainability aligns with consumer preferences, with eco-friendly practices contributing to her restaurants’ positive reputation.
